3 ingrediant salty sweet treat for you!

Merry Christmas!  I wanted to share a treat I make every Christmas with you.  I love it and I think you will too.  It's only 3 ingredients and its quick!  It's my butterscotch chocolate peanut clusters.  Here you go:

12 oz. semi sweet chocolateToll House morsels ( or similar)
12 oz. butterscotch Toll House morsels
12 oz. salted Spanish Peanuts

Add both bags (chocolate and butterscotch morsels) in the top of a double boiler.  Make sure you do not BOIL the water, just simmer.  Stir the morsels constantly until they are melted and blended.  Remove from heat.    Add  12 oz. of Spanish Peanuts and coat thoroughly with the chocolate/butterscotch mixture.

Plop several spoonfuls of the clusters onto wax paper until done and cool over night. This makes about 48-60 clusters.  YUM!

what motivates you to create?

Hello everyone!  It's Dec.1, 2015 can't believe it can you...I swear this year went by the fastest ever!  I'm so excited for 2016, how about you?   Do you have plans to make time for creativity?  If so how do you fit it in and what inspires you?  I plan on having more posts here that involve my readers and any suggestions you may have on what you would like to see.  Here is a snippet of what I mean:

What gets you motivated to create?  Because the holiday season is a busy time of year I want to keep this post short and sweet, but I would like to keep the conversation ongoing in future posts, so I'm starting with just one example.   One thing I do is create a color pallette if I want to make a piece of jewelry.  Having a physical visual helps get my creativity going:

What motivates you to create?  I'd love to hear your thoughts.  This week I'll be making new Christmas inspired gifts and will post them to inspire you.  My motivation is a 2 day holiday show that I'll be participating in Dec.4 and 5 in Costa Mesa,CA.  If you live in the area I'd like to invite you to not only see what I have on my table but to see several other artists in this intimate event.  Here is the flyer.  Hope to see you there!

FREE Halloween banner tut!

This was inspired by Betterafter.net and instead of making the book I made this banner.  Enjoy!

What you'll need:
1. mod podge
2. black paint
3. packaging jute
4. hot glue gun
5.banner blanks
6. ribbon
7. gold rub n buff
8. thin napkins or paper towel

Glue down the jute onto each banner with chosen alphabet (I spelled out SPOOKY)

Mod podge the napkin on top of each banner piece, squish it around to make it a little lumpy.  Let it dry.   Make sure the napkin has been opened up so it's thin. *If you've never used mod podge, its similar to liquid glue and provides a nice finish while glueing at the same time.

Paint the dried banner black, let dry

With your finger, rub on the gold rub n buff onto each banner section.

Paint the back if you like , let dry and if there are no holes, punch holes at the top of each banner piece to add the ribbon.  Your done!

Want to PLAY?????

FOR 100 DAYS I AM COMMITTING MYSELF TO MAKING 100 MIXED MEDIA QUILT SQUARES!!!!  FOLLOW ME AND COME PLAY TOO!  I WILL POST A NEW SQUARE EVERYDAY ON MY BLOG, FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM.
TAGS: #100DAYPROJECT      #100DAYSOFROBINSQUARES

What Is the 100-Day Project? It’s a celebration of process that encourages everyone to participate in 100 days of making. The great surrender is the process; showing up day after day is the goal. For the 100-Day Project, it’s not about fetishizing finished products—it’s about the process.
How Can I Play? It’s simple. Follow these steps to participate:
  1. Sign up for #The100DayProject newsletter for important announcements prior to and throughout the project.
  2. Follow Elle Luna and The Great Discontent on Instagram for project announcements, updates, and highlights.
  3. Choose your action, which you will perform every day for 100 days starting on Monday, April 6th, and ending on Tuesday, July 14, 2015.
  4. Create an Instagram account if you don’t already have one (this is where you’ll share your photos).
  5. Select a unique hashtag for your project so all your instances of 100 can be viewed in one place. Include the hashtag with each of your posts (i.e. #100Daysof____ ).
  6. Announce your project on Instagram. Download an image and post it on Instagram, along with your project’s unique hashtag, to announce your project before April 6th.
  7. On April 6th, begin! Share each instance of 100 on Instagram and include your unique hashtag and the official projects hashtag, #The100DayProject, so everyone can follow along. (Note: If you find this after the 4/6 start date, you can still join in and catch up or finish later.)
What should I do for my project? We’ve put together a few questions to help you get started.
  1. What are you passionate about? Is there something you used to do that you gave up, something you’d like to explore, something that intrigues you?
  2. Pick an object or objects. What do you already have in your possession that could be used to facilitate this project? it could be as obvious as paint and paintbrushes, a camera, fabric and a sewing machine, or a musical instrument. Or it could be less obvious, like your great dance moves, paint chips, a wooden chair, or strangers.
  3. Consider your location. Will you be home, traveling, or a combination of both? Pick something that’s feasible for you to complete.
  4. Choose your action. What’s your verb? Here are a few to get you thinking:

stand, speak, drive, study, drop, act, remove, repeat, examine, replace, introduce, perform, jump, pass, test, roll, kick, run, cook, thank, place, pick, save, throw, cover, shake, count, dance, break, walk, form, deliver, show, raise, reach, catch, sing, sort, develop, measure, discuss, draw, dress, write, meet, climb, take, look, climb, wish, shout, wash, decide
